The Yekaterinburg mayor’s office said it had installed new ones to replace most of the “demolished stops.”

      The Telegram channel "Yekaterinburg. Glavnoe", close to the city administration, mocked the PR stunt by the local branch of the New People party on the sensitive-for-city authorities issue of the "removed stops."

      According to a message published today, November 14, the "New People" action was held yesterday at the "Frunze" stop on Belinsky Street.

      Participants in the performance set up a cozy soft sofa with cushions at the back of the sidewalk and, it is reported, offered passersby tea from a thermos, lamenting that city residents had nowhere to sit while waiting for the trolleybus and bus. Ironically, the sofa was taken away by the "New People" immediately after the action ended, writes "Yekaterinburg. Glavnoe."

      The authors, close to the mayor's office, promised that a real stop would appear in that place within 10 days. Since September, 110 of the 154 demolished bus-stop complexes have been returned to the city's streets, the Telegram channel notes.

      Meanwhile, in the comments under the post one reader shared photos of one of the new stops, all of whose glass panes are covered with advertising posters and leaflets. After they are torn off, the stop looks even more depressing.
